CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO provides financial leadership and directs all financial activities, systems, and processes for business units. This includes business planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, insurance, and bank relations. As a key member of the executive team, the CFO assesses trends, identifies problem areas, and proposes cost management/revenue enhancement opportunities. The CFO is also responsible for managing fund-raising efforts when needed.

CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

The chief medical officer (CMO) is responsible for overseeing the direction, planning, and execution of drug-development activities. Reporting to the CEO, the role establishes and approves scientific methods for the design and implementation of clinical protocols, data collection systems, and final reports. The CMO directs human clinical trials and oversees adverse-event reporting and safety monitoring.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, SALES AND MARKETING

The executive vice president, sales and marketing is responsible for developing and leading integrated sales and marketing functions for the organization and creates and executes strategic plans and actions to achieve the organization’s sales growth and revenue targets. The EVP sales and marketing develops and maintains senior-level key account relationships, with overall responsibility for managing new sales, customer relations, and satisfaction to ensure growth and development of existing customer base. The role also delivers and is responsible for overall execution of sales, business, and marketing plans to achieve maximum sales and keeps abreast of industry trends and competitive offerings.

REGULATORY AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

The regulatory affairs director is responsible for the development of a successful regulatory strategy. This position is also responsible for the planning, development, and organization of regulatory documents for submission to governmental regulatory agencies. Reporting to the CMO, the regulatory affairs director ensures that the company is compliant with all federal and state regulations. The role is also involved in clinical sales and marketing.

COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The compliance officer is responsible for implementation and maintenance of the company’s quality systems and regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, customer requirements, external regulations, and standards (FDA and other regulatory agencies). This includes internal and external auditing, training, document control, product complaints, and final technical review of commercial and clinical products. This individual makes recommendations for quality and compliance.

VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES

The VP human resources will create strategy for benefits and compensation. Reporting to the CEO, the VP human resources is responsible for building HRIS systems and developing employee relations and communications programs. The VP human resources also serves as the lead for policy development, the recruiting program, and training and professional development.

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The director of business development is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating business opportunities consistent with company’s areas of interest. This includes responsibility for licensing activities with potential partners, establishing and maintaining communication tools of business development activities for management, and preparing, coordinating and presenting the company’s assets to potential partners.

MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON

The medical science liaison role is dedicated to providing thought leaders in academic institutions with the most current medical, scientific, and clinical information. The MSL establishes, develops, and maintains long-term sustainable working partnerships with members of the medical community who may have regional, national and/or international impact in areas of importance to the company (key opinion leaders).

VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS

The VP of communications provides leadership to the development of communication functions and leads strategy for all media communications. The role is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive communication plan and initiation of a major public policy communications campaign. The VP of communications develops governmental affairs policy and provides leadership to industry-wide issues including Medicare and Medicaid.

DIRECTOR OF REIMBURSEMENT AND PAYOR ALLIANCES

The director of reimbursement and payor alliances is responsible for analyzing the healthcare market, legislation, and government policies. The role provides senior management with the impact on business, identifies opportunities and develops strategies to enhance coverage, and reimbursement for products and services. The director of reimbursement and payor alliances is also responsible for developing and executing lobbying strategies to influence congress and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to enact legislation and policies.
