SALES & MARKETING EXEC RELOCATES CROSS COUNTRY

The Client Opportunity

Our client, a large multimillion-dollar medical device company, needed a highly experienced Vice President of Sales & Marketing for their high-growth company. The client retained Ashton Tweed because of their expertise in the life sciences and knew they had the necessary tools to find the unique professional they were seeking. Additionally, they knew a skilled recruiting firm would be helpful in persuading a new hire to move to their location in the Southeast United States.

The Ashton Tweed Solution

The client required potential candidates to have experience selling engineering solutions ideally in the complex custom polymer/plastics molding space. Additionally, they wanted a hands-on executive who could roll up their Red flag pin on a road map - location conceptsleeves while building out the overall sales and marketing strategic plan. Candidates with management experience who had built and run a sales and marketing organization from scratch were also targets.

Ashton Tweed went to work, researching and reaching out to over 300 candidates. As is the norm in a retained search, the recruiting team only considered the most superior talent. The biggest challenges were pinpointing qualified candidates that were truly hands-on, a perfect culture fit with the company, and were willing to relocate to the Southeast. The Ashton Tweed team was able to narrow in on seven highly qualified candidates that met all three of the mentioned requirements and were intrigued by the opportunity.

After interviewing the selected candidates, the client hired a top sales and marketing professional who was very hands-on and was experienced managing large teams on a global spectrum. This candidate was employed and not actively looking for new opportunities, but was immediately attracted to the opportunity presented by Ashton Tweed. The client and candidate were both extremely satisfied with the culture fit and were excited to move forward. Soon after, the candidate relocated from the West Coast to start the position.

The Benefit

The client was extremely pleased to hire their ideal candidate in a matter of months. The Ashton Tweed team helped navigate the sensitive discussion of relocation between the client and candidate. Finding a perfect candidate that was willing to relocate would typically have taken a much longer period of time and would have set the company’s sales and marketing initiatives perilously behind schedule.
